Article named one of the top 100 physics Scientific Reports papers in 2018

Congratulations to Professor Yogesh K. Vohra, long time HPCAT user and NNSA-SSAA partner, and team for recognition of their work in part performed at HPCAT.  Their article, authored by Samuel L. Moore, Gopi K. Samudrala, Shane A. Catledge, and Yogesh K. Vohra, "Rapid Growth of Nanocrystalline Diamond on Single Crystal Diamond for Studies on Materials under Extreme Conditions" received 837 article views in 2018, placing it as one of the top 100 read physics papers for Scientific Reports in 2018.

Scientific Reports published more than 1133 physics papers in 2018, and so a position in the top 100 most highly read articles is an extraordinary achievement.  Work done by Prof. Vohra and his team from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Department of Physics demonstrates a novel fabrication method to produce NCD two-stage anvils and will continue to expand the pressure that can be achieved with diamond anvil cell platform.

The entire diamond anvil including the NCD micro-anvil has been deposited with a one micron thick layer of tungsten metal for pressure measurement by x-ray diffraction.
