Seth Iwan is visiting HPCAT for a graduate student internship from University of Alabama, where he is working on his Ph.D. His research at HPCAT will focus on extending the range and precision of temperature and pressure calibration for the large volume Paris-Edinburgh press at the beamline 16-BM-B. Seth’s Ph.D. research involves super-hard materials synthesis using the high pressure and temperature approach and synchrotron-based materials characterization.
