HPCAT staff and HPCAT-U lead engineer Eric Rod has participated in the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of the newly purchased monochromator for our ID-A-B station. The new monochromator, expected to arrive for installation in the coming weeks, is the last of the components to be installed for full completion of the upgrade to 16-ID-A-B stations. The FAT is a critical step in the tender and procurement process and is required before the Axilon AG vendor proceeds with shipping-delivery to HPCAT.  Eric attended the FAT at the vendor's facility in Germany in order to review the final specs and receive a technical overview in preparation to receive the device for onsite installation at HPCAT.
