Nenad Velisavljevic Elected to the Executive Committee of the American Physical Society Topical Group on Shock Compression of Condensed Matter
Congratulations to Nenad Velisavljevic, HPCAT Director and LLNL staff scientist, on being elected to the Executive Committee of the American Physical Society Topical Group on Shock Compression of Condensed Matter (APS – GSCCM) Member-at-Large for two year term 2021-2022. The voting for this position is community wide and is a great recognition of Nenad’s commitment to serving the high pressure community. By serving on APS-GSCCM executive committee, Nenad hopes to use the opportunity to represent an evolving community of researchers investigating the behavior of materials at extreme pressure, temperature, and strain rate conditions. High-pressure field continues to grow with respect to research techniques and community base, and GSCCM, along with the biennial conference on Shock Compression and other APS meetings, provides a vital platform to meet fellow researchers from around the world. In particular, Nenad would like to use the meeting platforms to better connect early, mid, and senior career staff and to better promote interdisciplinary aspects of the high pressure research field. https://engage.aps.org/gsccm/governance/executive-committee/committee-members?Execute=1
