Baylor University student, Hannah Yeung, interned at HPCAT during August 2019.  Her mentor, Dr. Paul Chow, praised her contributions.  By the end of her summer appointment, she had perfected several labor-intensive tasks such as: the technique of making intricate samples for high pressure inelastic scattering, use of the computer controlled MicroSupport micromanipulator, and use of the laser drilling system for micro-machining parts and sample assemblies used for diamond anvil cells.  Hannah will return to Baylor for her second year having gained a first-hand look at the daily work of experimental scientists.
