Instructions for Data access through Globus

Download and Install Globus Connect Personal:

To begin, please download and install the Globus Connect Personal app (https://www.globus.org/globus-connect-personal) on your computer. This will allow you to create an "endpoint" on your device, which is necessary for syncing data.

Create a Personal Endpoint:

Once the app is installed, create an endpoint on your computer. This endpoint will serve as a link to a specific folder on your device where you want the data to be synced.

Access the Data Collection:

In the Globus app, search for the collection named APS:DM:HPCAT. This is where your data is stored. You will look for a folder that is named with your beamline station and run cycle, like 16IDB/2025-1 or 16BMD/2026-2

Sync Your Data:

Look for the option to sync endpoints. Instead of downloading individual files, you can sync the entire data folder from the Globus endpoint to your personal endpoint. This ensures that all data is transferred efficiently.

Refer to the Manual:

For detailed instructions, you can refer to the following manual: Globus Data transfer Guide  (https://git.aps.anl.gov/DM/dm-docs/-/wikis/DM/HowTos/Getting-Data-From-Globus). This guide provides step-by-step instructions on logging in and setting up endpoints and transferring data.

If you encounter any issues or have further questions, contact your beamline scientist.
